My clients come to therapy with a variety of concerns. Diverse training and experience allow me to meet you where you are and help you to begin to see a way forward. Generally speaking, I create a therapy space focused on heightening awareness, looking at how change follows acceptance, and being present with what is true for you in the moment. These aspects of therapy allow you to develop greater insight into your self, your feelings, and your situation. As we are thinking together and noticing your particular forms of human behavior, emotions, and expression, I'll also be relying on my training in couples therapy, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, Gestalt therapy, and family systems therapy. Understanding family dynamics and one's own personal history will often point a way in therapy toward symptom relief. Often symptoms arise from habits of mind and behaviors that once-upon-a-time made sense as good enough strategies for getting by--but no longer. It takes courage to ask for help, and I look forward to being your collaborator as you delve into the process of discovering a more satisfying, fulfilling and meaningful life.
